SEND Learn Explore Debate - London - 3rd March 2015

Found the whole event of high quality and very informative. In a time of very tight and restricted funding in LAs, it was most helpful to attend this very much needed debate on SEND and with no cost implications on settings and LAs.

Hillingdon Approach amazing, not something that all LAs would fund. Great to promote all that chidminder’s can offer.

4Children and The Council for Disabled Children ran a second series of FREE events which were delivered on behalf of the Departmenent for Education.

The topics covered on the day were:

  • Update on the work of 4Children and Council for Disabled Children and Partners in relation to SEND
  • The importance of whole setting high quality Universal practice
  • Working in partnership to understand best outcomes for young children
  • Case studies of emerging practice in relation to implementing the SEND code of Practice
  • Creating opportunities for a learning culture in settings through CPD

These events, as before, were aimed to engage the broadest range of practitioners from across the sector. The topics were of interest to all early years practitioners and those supporting them, such as those in the role of Area SENCO, Inclusion Advisers, Early Years Specialist teachers.
