Wales Family Hero - Helen Wynne

Helen is a childminder and specialises in looking after children with disabilities and special needs. Following the birth of her son who has a serious chromosome disorder she realised that not only did her son need extra and very specialised help to allow him to develop, but that there were lots of other children out there who also needed that special level of care.  She has developed her childminding business specifically to meet the needs of children with special needs.

She finds out the challenges that each of the children has and finds a way to work with each of them in a way which supports them the best. She offers plenty of opportunity for all of the children to play no matter what their disability, and is always searching for new methods and ideas to ensure that all the children in her care have the very best development opportunity.
