West Midlands Family Hero - Laura-Jade McCutcheon

Laura is 17 years old and has been a dedicated volunteer for 2 years with the Time for Me project that helps to support children and young people who live with someone who misuses drugs or alcohol. She is inspiration and draws upon her own experience of growing up in a similar situation which makes it really easy for the young people to share their worries with her. She will always go the extra mile, helping them to learn how to cook meals on a budget, stay safe and learn what to do in an emergency.

Laura shows a lot of enthusiasm and many of the children have said they would like to volunteer when they get older to help others.   Laura is an inspiring young person and an ideal role model for the children and young people.
