Six clubs worked with Hackney Music Development Trust (HMDT) on Come and Play in 2004.
HMDT is a dynamic organisation, which creates a wide range of music education projects encompassing a variety of cultural traditions and talents in Hackney. They work closely with schools and many community organisations to introduce and sustain a legacy of music education for people of all ages, gender, ethnicity and ability, working to increase access to high quality musical experiences, raise achievement and nurture local talent. HMDT strives to develop work which can make a significant change to people’s lives and offer them a wealth of opportunities, to which they would otherwise have no access. HMDT has developed groundbreaking education projects in which music and the arts are embedded to promote other forms of learning.
