Seven clubs worked with the Essex Music Service and 4Children (Essex office) on Come and Play in 2003.
The Essex Music Service have continued to work with 4Children bringing music into clubs since initial involvement in Come and Play in 2003. To date it is estimated that approximately 37 clubs have been involved with Come and Play, 70 Playworkers (also including club staff representatives and parents) have attended additional training days and an estimated 340 Children have benefited from musicians facilitating workshops in clubs.

The second round of the Come and Play programme in Essex has focused on the Uttlesford and Maldon areas. The music service is providing training for playworkers. The musicians are exploring rhythm, pulse and pitch along with song writing and drumming with the children.
