TAPS delivers a varied programme of traditional and intercultural folk arts projects and performances. It explores the common ground between traditional cultures resident in England (including English, Asian, African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern and Latin American) through workshops and performances involving music and dance in educational, community and professional performance settings, sharing the traditional arts of England with people from different cultural backgrounds. It celebrates and keeps the traditional arts of England contemporary by acknowledging the past, creating for the present and ensuring continuity for the future through its community events, educational work and skills training. Its ethos is one of cultural unity in England, believing that it is only by first recognising what we have in common, that we can truly celebrate our diversity. www.tradarts.org Two Artists from different Cultures are working with Musical Songs and Games to explore the World of Music in England and how it can relate to everyday situations and fun themes in six clubs in Surrey. Each pair of Artists is delivering a series of 6 workshops in which the young children can play, explore and create a sound palette of their own. The Artists help create a fun environment in which the young children can experience the joys of: Geography / Sharing / Maths / History / Stories / Language / Movement / Co-ordination / Science – THROUGH MUSIC MAKING!
