Leeds

Seven clubs worked with Leeds College of Music on Come and Play in 2003, facilitated through Leeds Play Network.

Leeds College of Music is the UK’s largest college of Music. The college’s courses cover an exceptionally wide range of music and its associated technologies, at all level from beginner to postgraduate. It provides an exciting programme of musical events in its 350-seat concert hall, The Venue. As well as full-time courses, the College also runs an extensive range of part-time evening courses. The College runs a variety of popular one-week summer schools over July and August, short courses throughout the year and educational workshops within the College and local community.

In 2005 Elaine Barrow facilitated training on the Come and Play resource pack. 47 playworkers took part and of the 11 settings involved, 2 of these were for vulnerable children in temporary accommodation. This training programme facilitated access to music for 100 children in the Leeds area.
