Health Behaviour in School-aged Children
In response to the World Health Organisation Report, Health Behaviour in School-aged Children, published on 18 June 2008, Anne Longfield OBE, Chief Executive of 4Children, said:
“People in the UK work the longest hours in Europe and face tremendous pressure to balance intense professional demands with domestic commitments. Our culture of pushing the working hours and not having support for families is taking its toll on our teenagers who, at this important stage of their lives, are often left unsupported and at increased risk of falling into anti-social behaviour. "The negative trends reported here remind us once again why we must make sure that young people are able to access help and support when they need it and the importance of prioritising health across the range of new opportunities and activities being developed for young people.”
