Young people in education, work or training
In response to new Government figures released today on the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), Anne Longfield OBE, chief executive of 4Children, said:
“I am delighted that the number of young people taking part in education, work or training is on the increase. Longer term outcomes are often very poor for those who aren’t in education, employment or training so this is good news for the life chances of many young people. "There is of course more to be done and the next key challenge is to make sure that the reforms to academic and vocational opportunities deliver for young people and that underlying problems which may cause young people to disengage are identified and support put in place at a much earlier stage.”
