Sure Start Children’s Centres are a growing and vital part of our communities helping to support families in the crucial first years of their children’s lives. One of the first Children’s Centres in Cumbria and working with over 1500 children, the Sure Start Carlisle South Children’s Centre team were chosen because they are imaginative, committed and passionate about the community in which they work.

Highlights of the team’s achievements include an award winning project that brings children and parents together to share and explore their heritage. Also notable are their innovative domestic violence group POW WOW (power of women, words of wisdom) work with dads and their young parents support group.
