The lives of many young women have been positively influenced by the work of Gateshead Young Women’s Outreach Project. Vulnerable women, often on the margins of society, have been creatively engaged in empowering learning programmes. The young women are nurtured through the skills, professionalism and trust possessed by the team.

The work of the team includes bringing services to young mothers in rural areas, to recruiting an ex-teacher to help women who wish to take their English GCSE. The team endeavour to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and encourage these young women to take part in the management of the project at all levels, allowing the young women to become actively involved in various aspects of the organisation.
