Bank Kitchen Assistant – Across 4Children’s Gateshead settings

Location:Hours: As and when needed to cover staff holidays, absences, maternity cover e.t.c

Job Purpose and Principal Accountabilities:

•  To prepare, cook and serve food and beverages to the required standard.
• To support other kitchen personnel in their duties and responsibilities, and to comply with efficient waste control program.
• Be responsible for the direct cleaning of the kitchen area and equipment.
• You will have gained experience in quality establishments preparing dishes from scratch.
• Control of hygiene and health and safety in the kitchen and other domestic areas and be up to date with current hygiene legislation.
• Attend meetings with other kitchen personnel, follow new policies and to be aware of current changes and standards and to keep up to date with new trends and methods of food preparation in the food service industry.
• Maintain standards in domestic areas for the comfort and well being of staff and children. 
• Experience of preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages to the required standard .
• Knowledge of health & safety, and food hygiene regulations
• General understanding of the operation of the centre
• Ability to maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory regulations.
• Ability to follow menus and recipes.
• Ability to use kitchen and cleaning equipment
