Helping young people flourish

As part of The Children’s Partnership 2013-2015, 4Children is working with NCYVS and our other partners as the strategic partner to government to improve outcomes for young people, particularly those who are most disadvantaged or vulnerable.

This means working towards a common goal of young people having a strong sense of belonging, and the supportive relationships, strong ambitions, and good opportunities they need to realise their potential.

Young are important to us now, and to our future, and we need them to flourish.

0-19 services

4Children is committed to supporting young people through its network of children’s centre services. We work with local authorities to promote our fully integrated 0-19 model for children’s centres and have developed successful settings on this basis.

Youth Club

In our 0-19 centres we work with local youth services and other key partners to deliver alternative education programmes to Year 9 and Year 11 pupils who are at risk of exclusion, these include formal and informal education options. During evening and weekend hours the centres offer a range of social and personal development activities.

Wandsworth Youth Services

4Children is delighted to deliver services for and with young people in Wandsworth – together with the programmes and experience brought by the Prince’s Trust, we will provide a safe space where they can socialise and take part in  a wide variety of activities and opportunities.

Airplay Youth Support

Airplay CoverAs part of its Airplay programme, the RAF Benevolent Fund has commissioned 4Children to provide trained youth workers all 25 RAF stations across the UK. We are working in partnership with RAF Community Development staff to provide a programme of safe and stimulating activities for young people. And also supporting service families with deployment.

Airplay Youth Support began in July 2010 an it's new report published this year reveals the positive impact of the programme supporting young people from military families.

Working in partnership

4Children also works in partnership with young people in their local area to help develop local provisions, engagement and participation strategies. This includes supporting MyPlace projects in Knowsley, Enfield and Leeds, working with the Young Mayor of Lewisham to develop our Make Space Youth Review as well as 16,000 young people countrywide, and operating a very successful Youth Participation Service in Tameside.
